St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a southern Caribbean nation comprising a main island, St. Vincent, and a chain of smaller islands. The population of the St Vincent and the Grenadines is 110,589 with the capital being Kingstown.
St Vincent and the Grenadines have a high solar potential and set a renewable energy mix target of 60% by 2020. Presently St Vincent energy mix is comprised of 19% renewable energy on the public grid. Its electrical demand peaks at 21MW and its electricity prices are low relative to the rest of the Caribbean.

​Solar energy generation presents an opportunity to achieve St Vincent and the Grenadines’s energy goals, lower the cost of electricity, reduce its carbon footprint and reduce its annual dependence on about 23,416,000 liters of imported diesel for electricity alone.
